Eternally Faithful
Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations (Deuteronomy 7:9).
Will God do what He said He would do? Can you trust the Lord to stand by His Word? Many people who love God may struggle to answer “yes” to these questions. It is because they don’t know God’s faithfulness. This fundamental aspect of God’s character sets the precedent for how God will interact with His people.
God can be expected to do EXACTLY what He said He would do because God is faithful. He cannot violate His faithfulness because it is an eternal, unchanging characteristic of His nature. In this book, Philip Steele explains:
God is faithful to heal because He called Himself the Lord, our Healer. He is faithful to provide because He is, by nature, the Lord our Provider. Whatever God has declared Himself to be, He is faithful to be that in our lives!
